extreme makeover: haircut edition

This morning I brought Camille to Kids Hair to get her very first haircut. OK, I guess it's her second haircut, technically. Remember her first? Although it looked so cute since it started getting longer, it was also looking a bit scraggily. And, honestly, I've never been a huge fan of long hair. I've known all along that I want her hair style to be chin-length.

So off we went to Kids Hair. We got there a few minutes early, with the idea that she would get used to the place at see other kids happily having their hair cut. But as soon as we walked in they said they were ready for her.

Thus began the tears.

She didn't want to sit in the chair. She didn't want to wear the red cape. She didn't want to watch TV. She didn't want to hold my hand. She didn't even want a sucker. Who wouldn't want a sucker? Well, she'd never had a sucker before. She didn't know what a sucker was! So I started eating the sucker. And then she noticed that Elmo was on TV. And before we knew it it was time to blow-dry her hair. And, oh yeah, Grandma blow-dries my hair. This isn't so bad. And, hmmm, maybe I will try that sucker.

So by the time we were finished the tears were gone. All was well with the world.

We made a quick stop to visit Aaron at work. They had only seen each other for a few minutes this morning, and were definitely missing each other after the long weekend apart. She showed off her new 'do his coworkers and we stopped by to show Uncle Michael as well.

As soon as we got home I brought Camille outside so that I could snap some photos. And do you think she'd cooperate one bit? You bet! She was such a champ, giving me tons of smiles and giggles despite the fact that her little tummy was grumbling asking for food.

What a busy morning! I know I'm exhausted. And Camille? Well she is sound asleep in her bed with her blankie, quilt, pillow, elephant, BB (Bunny Bear) and Baby Colin.
