if Tiny was a vegetable, what vegetable would Tiny be?

I happen to me watching Martha Stewart's show right now. I haven't seen it in years, but this episode happens to be about blogging. So I figured that while I'm sitting here eating my Little Debbie cakes and watching TV, I may as well pop out a blog post too!

I'm 25 weeks pregnant today. Each Thursday I get an update from Baby Center which tells me what to expect during this week of pregnancy, as well as a rough estimate of how big 25-week babies are. This week our baby (which, by the way, we've nicknamed Tiny, as per the request of my niece Adeline) is about 13.5 inches long and weighs just about a pound and a half.

The one thing in these Baby Center updates I most look forward to is finding out what type of vegetable Tiny can be compared to according to either length or weight. It always makes me laugh. At four weeks gestation, Tiny was the size of a poppy seed. By 40 weeks, Tiny will be roughly the size of a pumpkin. A pumpkin?! Pumpkins vary enormously in weight! Are you kidding me? Well they do get a bit more specific and add that the baby weights roughly the same as a 7.5 lb pumpkin. Thanks, Baby Center. I'm glad I'm not preparing to give birth to a 20 lb. pumpkin.

This week...

Are you ready?

Is the suspense killing you?

The baby weighs roughly the  same as a...

RUTABAGA!

Yeah, I didn't know what a rutabaga was either. So I clicked on the Baby Center link so I could see a picture. This picture...

So, dear friends, when you see a rutabaga this week, you can think of Tiny!

Camille is at school right now. I've spent my time making a quick trip to Walmart, showering, drying my hair, putting in a load of laundry, putting baby clothes in a storage tote (in hopes that they won't get stained this time), eating lunch, and blogging.

I still have to empty the dishwasher, switch the laundry loads, and take a nap.

I'd best be on my way...

'Cause I'm sure I'll be seeing many rutabagas this week... I'd like to see you trying to explain the baby-pumpkin connection to Camille...

haha. Hopefully no 20 lb. pumpkins, Jenna. I loved the post, can't believe you're so far along, I guess time just flies! Way to go getting all those things done!
