Haiku Tuesday!

UPDATED:

For those of you who need a little Haiku 101 (ahem, Kristy)...Haiku is a three line stanza of poetry consisting of five syllables in the first line, seven in the second, and five in the third.

I've decided to start my very own blog carnival! A few of you may remember way back when when I regularly (okay, occasionally) wrote a haiku to go with a recent photograph. I've decided to resurrect this theme and make it a weekly occurance. I also encourage you to join in on the haiku fun and write your own haiku (photo optional) about what's going on in your life. After you post your own haiku on your own blog, just click the MckLinky at the bottom of this post and enter your blog's address. Others will then be able to link from my blog to read your haiku! Fancy, huh?

Unfortunately, I don't have a photo to put with my haiku for this week....

listen to stories
meet some new friends and eat snacks
red balloon bookstore

But I will share with you some of my former haiku...

So now it's your turn to write a haiku! And I do know several of you who have your own blogs. That's right, I'm talking to you Megan, Kati, Anika, Kristy, Aimee, and Carolyn...

What are the rules for Haiku again? It has been so long...but what fun! I am game if you teach me how!

I updated this post with the "rules." Now go write a poem!
