Last week we went on a field trip with our local homeschool group to the Stein Family Farm. All the kids had a wonderful time feeding animals, watering plants and planting seeds, washing clothes on a washboard and hanging them on a line, and touring a 100+ year old farm house. Interestingly, this farm is right in the middle of the city on about 3 acres of land.
Unfortunately, after Camille planted her marigold seeds she inadvertently set the container right next to the duck enclosure. When we found it an hour later most of the seeds had been picked out! Nevertheless, we are keeping it watered in hopes that a few seeds had been left behind. As of one week later we still don't see any sprouts.
